Five years ago, I went job hunting, seeking a part time position to help pay for University. Kent was new to the community I lived in at the time and I thought it would be interesting to learn about building supplies. After a year, I realized I truly enjoyed working for this company and started to inquire about advancement opportunities. They were endless. So, I decided I would finish the business program I entered before taking on extra responsibility. About a month after I graduated I took on the role of Assistant Manager in a box store, where I learned even more than I anticipated. A couple months into this particular job I was asked if I would participate in the Management Development Program. I didn’t hesitate. A year and a half later I was asked to run the new Kent location in Riverview, NB. As you can see, opportunities to move up within the company are there for the taking. The company is there to help you achieve and give you the resources necessary to do so. Hard work and dedication. That is the key. I have been a store manager now for about 6 months and have never looked back. I have loved working with Kent since day 1 and have enjoyed every day since.
