Testimonial:
I have been with Kent now for 11 years.  I have had the opportunity to work in several different stores and positions throughout the company and most recently at Head Office.

My experience and knowledge starting out was limited and I didn’t really know what my long term plan was.  After a few weeks, I saw the many opportunities that were open to me and decided I wanted to learn as much as I could about the business and work my way up.

Working in different areas of the company has been a great experience over the years.  What I enjoy about being a Merchant is the challenging and fast paced working environment.  There is never a dull moment and there is always something new to learn.  As a merchant, my key responsibility is making sure we have the right assortment of product at the right price for our customers.  Negotiating with vendors, selecting flyer items and working with the stores is essential to making that happen.

We have a great team at KENT and in fact I believe that the best thing about working for Kent is our people.  I’ve had great mentors while in the stores that worked with me and helped me develop the skills I needed to achieve my goals. The knowledge and skills I have gained due to their support has been essential for my growth within the company thus far.

Kent offers a variety of training courses and programs to help develop associates in different areas of the business.  I have been able to take advantage of the opportunities for additional education and training specific to my positions over the past 11 years.

I am looking forward to continuing my career with Kent and the opportunities that may follow.
